Green Day
It’s Earth Day and we’re always looking for ways to help ensure a greener planet. Water is a wonderful resource, not only for humans but for stone manufacturing, as well. The equipment and tools used in fabricating requires over a million gallons of water annually to cut and polish quartz and natural stone. To cut these costs, and save the environment from dirty water, we’ve implemented a method to recycle our water. As the machines use the water, the excess water flows into floor grates and is pumped into a container where it gets cleaned and sent back to the polishing, and cutting machines.
Progressive also carries recycled glass countertops made by Curava. The tops are made up of glass bottles, windows, and windshield glass found in landfills and other post-consumer and industrial waste sites. This material is non-porous, which makes it very sanitary and easy to clean. And there is no need to seal because it is stain resistant.
Did you know that quartz countertops are eco-friendly? Most of the material used to make quartz comes directly from the earth. It also features a longer replacement life and is even recyclable.
We’re dedicated to continuing practices and sell products that are environmentally friendly. Stop by and see our shop and samples in our showroom.
